Shree Sai Baba's views on Charity and Donation:
Based on "Shri Sai Satcharita," it appears that Sai Baba viewed giving charity as a form of good deed and charitable acts as an expression of love towards others, particularly those who are less fortunate. The book suggests that money given to his cause is considered good charity because it is used to feed and help many in need, fakirs (wandering ascetics) and those who are poor and enduring hardships.
Shri Sainath also further said, "Know for certain that he who feeds the hungry, really serves Me with food. Regard this as an axiom truth". (Shri Sai Satcharita). Keeping that tradition alive, Shirdi Sai Baba Sanstha performs periodic Anandan (gift of food) seva (service) for the needy at various venues.
The devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba often feel both at home and deeply moved by an indefinable sense of the transcendent while experiencing his astral or subtle presence. This duality reflects the idea that charity and giving can be expressions of love towards others as well as a means to connect with something greater than oneself – ultimately leading to spiritual growth and enlightenment.
